“Our section of the A5 motorway is more than Austria’s first PPP project. It is a model of how to combine transport infrastructure with environmental responsibility.”
“Sustainability is probably not the first thing people think of when talking about motorways. We say: This is a call for action to implement the various measures needed to reduce our environmental footprint.”
“We understand PPPs to mean constructive partnerships that offer added value, planning certainty and long-term responsibility for future generations. Cooperative projects like this are models for the future.”
With the southern section of the A5 motorway, Bonaventura shows how transport infrastructure and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand. Also known as Nord-Autobahn, Project Y or Weinviertel Autobahn, the 51-kilometre section of motorway is Austria’s first public-private partnership (PPP) project in the national primary road network being carried out on behalf of Austrian road operator ASFINAG. It also is a showcase project for partnership-based, forward-looking infrastructure management.
